Professor Parviz Yakani Zare, a well-known historian, says the following about the name of Azerbaijan: The word Azerbaijan originally comes from "Hazar Baygan" composed of "Haaz+Ar+Bay+Gan or Arabized Qan means John". Religion in Azerbaijan

The religion in Azerbaijan and irreligion in Azerbaijan pages have quite contradictory claims. I think to make a proper claim, these two have to be adjusted, as well as the statistics on this page.

From my understanding: although culturally muslim, the large population doesn't believe in religion or practice. Hence, the religion section has to be altered. DeliberationDemocracy (talk) 11:13, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Military strength

The current text:

As of 2021, Azerbaijan had 126,000 active personnel in its armed forces. There are also 17,000 paramilitary troops and 330,00 reserve personnel.

I tried to track down the apparent typo (330,00) and found that the reference did not support the statement at all. It is from 2008 and describes "95,000 men, including 85,000 men in the ground forces. 8,000 men are in the air force and air defence, 2,000 men in the navy; 2,500 men in the National Guard part of the ground forces; Interior Ministry 12,000 men and border troops 5,000 men."

Is there another (maybe more recent) reference?

Vandalism in Template:Azerbaijani dances?

The template for Azerbaijani dances includes an entry for "cockapoopooshire." This seems very suspicious, but there isn't any obvious vandalizing edit (it was added when the template was created). I'm guessing what happened was that someone vandalized a page somewhere else and that was copied into the template, but wanted to confirm that this actually was vandalism.
